Quests are an important staple in maintaining a unique flavor to SIEGE!'s new take on AoS games, but at times all the running feels a little redundant once you've reached that "Veteran Player" state.
With that said, I am considering making it so that once you purchase an item from a shop (for example: the mithril ore from the kobolds) that it automatically completes the quest, not taking up inventory space or requiring you to take a trip back to town for a turn in.
This system will take a good days work to implement and test to ensure its working correctly, so I'd like to make sure you guys, the die-hard SIEGE! fans that you are, feel this is a step in a direction that would help increase the bountiful enjoyment that SIEGE! already offers.

Well, both in terms of flavor and gameplay, I would advice keeping the current system. It forces players who are higher level and questing to spend less time on the front, which would make for balance impaired gameplay. Also, since your blacksmith is crafting things, it would make no sense for him to magically get ingredients when you buy them. Lastly, for the golems, you want to be there for the push anyway, so having them activated while in the enemies area is somewhat use impaired.

What WOULD be a cool system is this: when you buy a quest item, it spawns a caravan (mule) that goes back to base. If it is killed, it gives bounty equal to cost of item (150, 300, 750, etc). This would make it way harder to kill the last guy in the golem quest and run like hell.

I really like doomhathcomeths idea, a caravan/mule running back to base would be pretty neat. The main problem with this is it means you would need to control the lane to complete a quest, so no more backdooring to quickly complete a quest.

Is that a problem? I find backdooring kinda lame late game, as it becomes too easy to kill a hero, get an item, and hearth back before the other team arrives. A mule moving at the average hero speed with 500 hit points would be reasonable. You would have to control at least some parts of the lane. I don't know how this would work for items that drop off of units tho. Same system?
