When first entering the world of SIEGE! you will be placed in your home town. There are 6 locations of interest: The King, the Quest NPCs, the Market District, The northern barracks, the southern barracks, and the healing spring.
The King
Arethil, the king of the north, is the beating heart of your kingdom and you must protect him the same as you would your own. If your king falls to the merciless onslaught of the southern kingdom it will cost you the game. The king will always remain inside the city walls, but will jump to action if enemies have breached its defenses.
The King's Defender
At your king's side you'll notice his defender, a strong hero that crushes foes beneath his mighty war stead. The defender defends, as his name implies, and will never leave the vicinity of the city.
The Headquarters
At the headquarters you'll be able to find quick help tool tips and useful blood elf artisans. These artisans can build towers, outposts, and repair the barracks in your town if it becomes disabled. If your barracks does become disabled, immediately turn to the headquarters and purchase the blood elves to repair it.
Quests
If you're looking to strengthen your kingdoms troops, or just simply would like some quick exp, gold, and medallions, then there are two quest lines that may be of interest to you.
Goblin Engineers
The goblin engineers have a 5 step quest line that leads to the construction of a Siege Golem. The Northern Kingdom's Golem heads south when completed, while the Southern Kingdom's Golem heads north (different lanes). You can also purchase light siege golems after this quest line has been completed. Behind the quest NPC is a goblin laboratory that has a no-charge reveal ability so you can scout the map at your leisure. You may also purchase a Land Rover, a helpful but frail vehicle with impressive speed, but is destroyed when touched in combat.
Dwarven Blacksmith
The Dwarven Blacksmith has a 10 step quest line that, with each consecutive step, increases your AI troops Weapon, Armor, and HP. Occasionally the quest turn ins will also make the footmen visually change. This evolution goes from an untrained villager, to militia, to footmen, to royal soldiers. When you complete the blacksmith quest line you are given a repeatable quest to turn int he skulls of enemy heroes. These can be turned into the blacksmith for a large amount of gold and medallions.
Market District
The market district has both shops and NPC vendors. Here you'll find recipes and weapon tier upgrades to beef up your hero.
Gems
Gems can be found outside of the city walls by slaying creatures or can be purchased at your gem vendors.
Blue, Green, Red - Sold at the Apprentice Weapon Transmuter.
Violet, Yellow, Teal - Sold at the Apprentice Gem Transmuter.
Black, White, Pristine - Sold at the Legendary Transmuter.
Weapon Transmuting
Your weapon is most reliable and useful item in the game, but you must treat it well by raising its Tier to higher levels. The tiering must be done in numerical order, meaning that you must have the previous Tier to achieve the next (example: You need Tier 4 to get Tier 5 even if you have the materials for Tier 5). There are two NPCs that sell all 5 weapon recipes.
Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4 - Sold at the Apprentice Weapon Transmuter.
Tier 5, Tier 6 - Sold at the Artisan Elvish Blacksmith.
Northern and Southern Barracks
This is where the AoS aspect of the game comes in. Your city has two barracks, each feeding units into its corresponding lane at specific timed intervals. You can also purchase units at these barracks to feed extra men into that barrack's lane. If your barracks becomes disabled from an eneI disagreeault then it will halt the periodic production of troops as well as disable the purchasing of units.
Healing Spring
Outside of your base is your Spring of Life. It will grant you an exceptional regeneration rate to both health and mana while you stand near it. This is also the location where you will respawn 25 seconds after dieing.
