Actually, what I meant (with my post) was that the aura is dependant on how many MORE heros in that lane do you have as compared to your opponent.
Therefore, if you have 1 hero, the other side would be forced into having at least 1 hero there.
It also makes mass defending a better tactic to use b/c of the Aura...... and mass pushing too.

The problem with that is that it doesn't support PvP at all, it supports massing a lane and gangbanging it, which isn't quite the intent...

What death said. It makes it really easy to get pwnt by a well co-ordinated team. While not a bad thing, it makes B-net games kinda lame.

If there's 4 heros on a lane, you'd naturally have to use 4 heros to defend it, so the way I thought about it was that it forces gangbanging...... defending and attacking, and in general, staying in the lane more often, which eventually leads to PvP.

In a japanese map called Hokage, a Naruto map, it used a system what the translaters called "Morale" which basically increased creep attack/move speed whenever one side successfully killed a hero, the killer's team increases by one, the killee goes down by one.
This would give even greater incentive than forcing players to lanes, but rather give INCENTIVE to do go after other players. It is good to note however any sort of attempt to get pvp focus will resort into ganks, it's bound to happen.
This would be a double edged sword however, but does punish a team that does poorly, but can encourage comebacks. Sometimes even can make the map take longer to finish.
Max Min morale for Hokage was 1-20, with both sides starting at 1.

Main problem with that: in a game like siege, some heroes can just be taken down really, really easily. A permanent bonus would rapidly devolve into domination. Particuarly since some players are up to 7 levels above the other team's average if they did all the quests.
